Oy.
Though the Republic still stands, many Dry Januaries have passed into the Great Beyond, and we're digging deep to hold onto the optimism we felt just a couple of weeks ago when we kicked 2020 to our Amazon-box-laden curbs.
So how about some sparkle?? This delightful, whimsical syrup has been a huge hit since we stocked it, and it's easy to see why. Punch up your pancakes and fancy up your French toast with this limited-edition treat.

Non-Dry January
Magical Maple Old Fashioned
Ingredients
2 ounces bourbon or rye
3–4 dashes Angostura bitters
1/2 teaspoon sparkle syrup
orange peel
ice
(optional): 1 maraschino cherry
Use a vegetable peeler or knife to carefully cut a 2- to 3-inch-long piece of orange peel. Run the pulp-side of the peel around the rim of the cocktail glass, then set the peel aside for later.
Add the bourbon, bitters, and syrup to the glass, and briefly stir to combine. Add the ice, then briefly stir the drink one more time to mix and chill.
Give the orange peel a good twist above the glass to release its oils, then tuck it into the drink. Add a maraschino cherry (if using) and serve immediately!
